Energy Intelligence Center
The Energy Intelligence Center (EIC) understands that the successful advancement of disruptive technology requires rigorous execution as well as effective marketing and business development. Since 2011, EIC’s Consultant/Advisor, Sridharan Raghavachari (Sri Chari), and our strategic partner for implementation, D.S. Ravishankar (Ravi), have worked on seventeen different projects around the world, specifically focused on energy savings through cooling system optimization. The installed projects to date save over 25 million annual kWh. The Energy Intelligence Center’s CEO, Charlie Szoradi, works with strategic partner companies to enhance communications regarding the competitive advantages of the technology and generate new business with the most appropriate contractors and facility managers. EIC focuses on the highest return on investment and energy savings for the company’s clients, which include energy contractors as well as end users. By managing EIC’s Sales Channel of strategic partnerships across the U.S. and around the world, the company is able to improve sustainability and reduce commercial energy consumption at some of the most cost-effective levels across the global landscape.
Charlie Szoradi – CEO
Charles A. Szoradi (Charlie Szoradi) is an architect and energy intelligence executive with more than 28 years of experience in sustainability and cost-savings for retrofits and new construction. Mr. Szoradi focuses on high performance architecture, and he is a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Accredited Professional), a Certified Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor, a member of the Energy and Sustainability Committee for the Society of American Military Engineers, and the Leadership Council Chairman of the American LED Alliance. In 2009, Mr. Szoradi was elected to the Board of the Sustainable Business Network and selected as a member of the Green Economy Task Force, with direct participation on the Capitol Hill Delegation. Mr. Szoradi earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia, and he earned his Masters from the University of Pennsylvania, where he wrote his Masters Thesis on Energy Intelligence – “Eco-Humanism” in the early 1990s. He has multiple patents granted by the USPTO and is the author of Learn from Looking, which includes over two decades of his travel drawings and insight on energy-efficiency and sustainability from his travels and work around the world. Mr. Szoradi is a sought after speaker on cost-effective sustainable design, and he lives in Greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
John Peterson – VP of Operations
John’s role with Energy Intelligence Center has evolved from Senior Account Manager to VP of Operations, based on his proven capability to deliver results. John brings over 20 years of experience in operational excellence in several industries including warehouse distribution, manufacturing and food service. As VP of Operations for EIC, John fills a wide range of roles. Recently John has been working with some of our clients on data collection and validation, sourcing and provisioning of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and sourcing other equipment to support our customers’ energy savings and cost cutting measures. John is also the lead on implementations of the OptikW platform, and his role includes gathering the data and other customer specific information to ensure a smooth installation process. John analyzes our customers’ energy use and has worked closely with Sri Chari, in developing energy saving strategies. He also works closely with Charlie Szoradi, our CEO, in consulting with customers to provide multiple options for energy conservation measures (ECMs) and explore means of greater energy efficiency. Cost-effective ECMs along the path to greater efficiency are at the core of the services and solutions provided by the Energy Intelligence Center.
John Conklin – Director of Energy Markets, Technology, and Funding
John has over 34 years of industrial, commercial, and renewable and alternative energy experience; has provided companies strategic management, operations, and governance expertise, and provided technical and business consulting services to more than 50 technology, manufacturing, and industrial process companies. For the past 10‐years, he has developed and held seats as a Director on Executive Boards and as a Technical Advisor. For the Energy Intelligence Center, John also brings his career expertise in grant writing and fundraising to create opportunities for EIC’s clients from the vast resources within the multi-trillion-dollar COVID-19 Relief Bill and the Biden Infrastructure/Jobs Bill.
Between 1999 – 2020, John focused his energies on strategic management, operations, and the development of technology from concept to proof of concepts. He has put heavy emphases on operations strategies that lead to innovation and development, and has advised on company operations strategy, financing, creation of company culture, human resources, product and technology development, compliance, safety, and investor and public relations (IR/PR).
Between 1984 – 1999 John actively managed both the technical and business requirements of various energy and industrial companies. In additional to technical oversight, he has engaged in Sarbanes‐Oxley Section 404(b) financial management and accounting; strategic planning; product prototyping, development, and distribution; productivity and profitability analyses; inventory and cost controls; and team recruitment and management.
Over the course of his career, John has invented or co‐invented more than 18 patent filings (2010 – 2020) and developed more than 20 Trademark filings. John earned his B.S. with Suma Cum Laude Honors of Distinction from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He was inducted into the Gold Key International Honor Society awarded only to the top 15% of class and inducted into The National Society of Leadership and Success. John is a Licensed Pilot and Certified Football Official.
Mary Kirk – Controller
Mary Kirk has over 25 years of experience in Operations, Office Management, Purchasing, Domestic and International Logistics and Customer Service. In here role as Controller, she oversees daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Ms. Kirk has worked with Charlie Szoradi, EIC’s CEO, for over 5 years, and she is an integral part of the leadership team. Her abilities range from finance and procurement to accurately tracking the flow of orders and products from production to customer site. Her ability to multi-task and adapt solutions to changing schedules and needs has allowed her to assure a smooth flow of business operations and orders through the system. Prior to working with Energy Intelligence Center, Ms. Kirk’s experience has included Office Management, Purchasing, Logistics, R&D, and Customer Service. She has worked with customers and vendors in over 20 countries in North America, Asia, Europe, South America and the Middle East.
Ms. Kirk has designed inventory procurement and control systems to keep production moving and minimize delays. Her experience in assembly, creating technical drawings, writing technical manuals, and Research and Development give her a better understanding of the manufacturing process. Ms. Kirk graduated from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics and Religion. In her spare time Mary Kirk is an Acrylic Pour Artist selling her paintings at local art and craft fairs and online.
Tom Cleary – National Sales Director
Tom Cleary brings to Energy Intelligence Center a background in Commercial Real Estate Investment Sales. Tom was a founder and leading member of the Marcus & Millichap Multifamily & Office Group responsible for successfully closing over $500 Million in sales in the Tri-State area. Having spoken with facility owners and managers on a daily basis for over five years, he can communicate how EIC can help generate energy savings that lead to higher net profits. Due to outstanding achievement, Mr. Cleary was chosen for the Marcus & Millichap mentorship program where he was trained to take on high-level managerial and sales roles within the group. He is adept at communicating the advantages of our algorithmic solutions and flexible and savings share compensation options to match each client’s specific technical and working capital needs.
D.S. Ravishankar – Implementation Partner and Control System Advisor
Devalapur Somasundar Ravishankar (D.S. Ravishankar) is an electrical engineer with more than 32 years of experience in designing, building and commissioning of control & automation systems. Since 2005 Mr. Ravishankar, has been running Fluid Controls and Systems (FCS), an industrial automation solution provider. As a System Integrator, FCS has the technical capabilities to create total solutions in electrical/instrumentation engineering and provide complete lifecycle automation solutions to end users and OEMs, across a broad range of industries. Prior experience for Mr. Ravishankar includes Venson Electric Co., USHA MARTIN Industries and Control Aid Engineers. Since 2011, Mr. Ravishankar has worked on numerous different projects around the world, specifically focused on energy savings through cooling system optimization. Mr. Ravishankar earned his engineering degree at the University of Karnataka, India. He lives in Bangalore, India where he manages a team of 40 engineers, programmers and support personnel.
